Big fan of Vox. I attended 3 courses here so far, and plan on attending more. Location is great, teachers are very knowledgeable and a lot of them have a background in linguistics. The class size is the great, I usually had 3 or 4 people in my classes.

I am very happy with the teaching method of this school. Before I started to learn German with this method, I had been learning German already two years. Nevertheless I didn't feel power to communicate, not even talking about passing the exam in order to receive permit C. And with the method of this school I only needed one and a half months and I passed the exam with 85% out of 100%. I started to talk to people. I started to understand cases and genders. Rules of the German language no longer scare me. It all became like a game for me. And my learning now goes on, ones you understand the method, you can continue learning all the time. I recommend this school very much. And if I decide to learn some other language more, I will absolutely go only to this language school.

Progressing from the B1 to B2 level in German is one of the most challenging steps. VOX was receptive to our class's feedback and made the necessary changes to our course. Additionally, our teacher, Andersen, was very patient and deeply committed to our language learning success. He worked tirelessly for us and consistently went above and beyond what most teachers would do.

After a few courses at VOX, studying German, I can only recommend it for: 1) the quality / professionalism of the teaching (always prepared, hand-outs if necessary, follow-ups over email if a class is missed and topics / words / concepts promptly addressed the following lessons); 2) flexibility of the teaching and administration; 3) small class size (one of my main selection criteria) which allows for a good practice / feedback for all students; 4) convenient location close to HB (which was a big plus when you are trying to strike a balance with work and other chores). Both teachers I had so far (Coralie and Larissa) were extremely helpful, accurate and kind and helped me moved towards my goals.

I can highly recommend VOX-Sprachschule. I however can only comment on the 1-1 online / video training sessions. We opted this route, it is more expensive (not cheap) but it works for us as our tutor fits in with our hectic work schedules. Our tutor Yvonne is very flexible with her lessons should someone from work arise and we cannot attend the lesson, rescheduling is never a problem. Everyone’s needs are different when learning a language and Yvonne has managed to tailor make the lessons for our needs. She is super knowledgeable of the language we are learning and her English is of a superb standard. The extra touch , Yvonne is teaching us German , however she also will add in some Swiss phrases which she feels would be beneficial to us. She sends all the online screenshot to us after our lesson so we can refer back to the notes of that particular lecture. She marks the given homework promptly. I’ve had a couple of enquires that I had to make with the school and always had a prompt response. Please note again , it is not cheap, but it is like most things in life , you get what you pay for. I am by no means running down any other language schools , however a big group was not what we wanted , we wanted 1-1 sessions where we could bond with our tutor and our needs have been met.

The best language school in Zürich. I took the German Goethe B1 for 1 year until September - and had success at the exams recently. Place and location superb, small group of classmates, a great teacher - Kathrine Spaar was knowledgeable, resourceful, kept us motivated and made the lessons interesting and fun(which is hard to do in German!). What made me though initially decide on this school was how open and flexible were to my special requests. I greatly appreciated that they continued to offer options and solutions to some personal issues I had during the course; every person I was in contact with was kind, responsive and eager to find a way to the best result - special kudos and thanXXX to Evgenia. I took the standard B1 level class (Dienstag und Donnerstag Abendkurs) with Elena. She was a wonderful teacher and taught the grammar rules in a way I really understood. She also consistently corrected my Aussprache, which I appreciated (strong American accent here). Moreover, I was thankful for her help with my special request to prepare me for the Telc B1 test. Furthermore, I liked the availability of the Abendkurs (19:30-21:00) because I was able to attend after work. The standard class also covered a lot of material in 3 months. I recommend it if you can dedicate a generous amount of time to study.

The school's own method used by all of its teachers focuses on pronunciation as well as on the vocabulary and grammar needed to be able to communicate within days of starting a course. This is further emphasized by the small size of the groups and the possibility of attending individual lessons, both of which allow the students' needs to be met.
