I've been very impressed with VOX Sprachschule Zürich. I started A1 classes in a small group lesson in February, then the pandemic hit and my courses were moved online. My teacher, Maximiliano (Maxi) Nigg, is fantastic! The classes are challenging but so helpful and my confidence in German continues to grow. I would recommend VOX and specifically Maxi to anyone who is looking to learn German.

Are there any things we can improve? -- I don't see any issues with the class or the learning material. The learning concepts that I am occupying myself with are exactly what I had initially had in mind when I first started the course, and although we don't always work with the book, I'm always about to leave the classroom (or in this case, the Zoom meeting) feeling like I learned something new and understand it. What is your general impression of the course and teacher? -- As far as the course goes, it's been very low-key and fitted to my personal goals. When I have class with my teacher, I don't feel stressed or rushed, and I am allowed to take my time as I learn - and even so, I am still able to make quick progress and learn on a broad spectrum in an efficient time span. In addition to this, my teacher is very welcoming and understanding of what I want to achieve within the lessons. She adapts to my needs, explains what I don't quite understand in simple and helpful terms, and makes me feel comfortable even when I struggle or feel less confident in a certain topic or theme. I'm very satisfied with my teacher and couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Are you making your desired progress in the course? -- Absolutely. The objective of taking the program was so that I could practice my speaking, understand new language concepts, and practise my French while I had a learning gap within my former school. In the weeks I've studied with my teacher, I've learned plenty of new vocabulary, gotten the opportunity to train my speaking, and received feedback that will be incredibly helpful as I continue to learn the language; my goals are being actively achieved, and I'm being helped to feel more and more secure in French altogether. Would you like to continue studying with us? -- Because my goal was to refresh my French and give me a head start in preparation for a new school, I would not continue my studies with the program after finishing it. I've achieved what I wished to do and feel ready for that which lies ahead of me. Although, I would recommend it for anyone willing to either start learning a language or further their education.

Unser Ziel ist es nicht, innert kürzester Zeit einen hohen Level zu erreichen, sondern wir möchten immer einen kleinen Schritt weiter kommen und das Englisch "warm" halten. Auch vorherige Kursleiter waren sehr kompetent und es hat uns immer grossen Spass gemacht, was in unseren Augen auch ein wesentlicher Faktor ist. Wir können die VOX-Sprachschule wärmstens empfehlen.

Progressing from the B1 to B2 level in German is one of the most challenging steps. VOX was receptive to our class's feedback and made the necessary changes to our course. Additionally, our teacher, Andersen, was very patient and deeply committed to our language learning success. He worked tirelessly for us and consistently went above and beyond what most teachers would do.

Very personal service, good organization and high quality of the lessons, even if they were taught online. We covered a whole level within one course and I noticed the difference right away in real life conversations!!! Within a few weeks I was able to refresh all the knowledge I already had and actively build on this, which is exactly what my goal was! The lessons were in a small group, which is very nice as you meet new people and can practice together, but the group is still small enough to get personal attention. There is a very good balance between speaking, grammar and vocabulary in every lesson. As part of the course you get a book that is okay (I would like some more grammar explanation in the book, it is mostly exercises), however there are a lot of good exercises that we were not able to cover all during the course, which allows you to keep practicing even after the course. What I appreciated most is the tips from the teacher about common phrases and swiss terms, that only a native speaker can tell you and you definitelly do not get through platforms like DuoLingo that I was using before! All with all definitely very happy I joined the course :)

I am taking level B1 with Björn and he is great! He is friendly and very professional: his explanations are clear and kind, he is very energetic and has always a clear path to follow in the classroom. Very recommended!

I have been going to vox from A2 High German to C1. After this course it was important for me to integrate more into the Swiss German language. I started taking private courses in swiss German and after a couple months I am starting to speak and type in swiss German to my colleagues at work which has brought about a positive impact in all of our relationships. My initial goal, even in A2, was to integrate better into swiss culture and I feel much more accepted when I try to speak swiss German even when it's not perfect. The language is not easy, but I have really enjoyed learning and practicing with my colleagues and friends. With the private tutor I am able to be very flexible with my schedule. If I have business trips we skip a week, or we can move days around as required. So overall I have had a very great and positive experience at Vox and have already recommended to 4 of my friends who are also expats to take the same courses.

I have had great experiences with Vox. I have taken the A1 and A2 courses. Both instructors have been thorough and practiced excellent pedagogical techniques. I highly recommend this language school.
