I highly recommend taking your German classes at VOX. And even more so I recommend requesting Alexander Lips as your teacher. Over the last year or so I've taken a few classes with Alexander (B1, B2, C1) and I've waited to make a review as I've been gate keeping his greatness. He is the best language instructor I've ever had and the most passionate. It is hard to stay motivated to study a language and it's hard to attend an evening course after work. But this isn't the case in Alexander's class. His expertise is inspiring. The course was completely tailored to our goals and our motivations. We explored poetry, books and presentations, all of which was frankly fun and enriching. We learned grammar, practiced speaking and reading, all while learning about history and art. I can also say I've read two books in German now which is super satisfying and it also gives me more to talk about to my friends in German. If anything I wish I had more time to learn and take advantage of Alexander's great instruction. Another very unique skill of Alexander's is his deep understanding of etymology and applying the skill to make words stick in your mind. He can break down words into components to then make connections to others words, languages, history, or stories. He shows the patterns to look for to do the same. There are words I'll never forget because he took the time to really give us the depth of the word. Such a talent to have! Huge thank you to VOX for such great organization and a huge thank you to Alexander for all the work and care he puts in his instruction. So, if you've read to here you should really go register already for a course!

We have a lot of fun while learning, and I've gained so much from her classes. I enjoyed the diversity of students, and my teacher, Isabelle, Wegmuller, was absolutely exceptional. She had very original and creative ways of presenting new material and engaging the students. She has an astounding grasp of Hoch Deutsch and a vast well of knowledge about so many different things. The time past so quickly, too quickly, and I learned a lot in just a short period of time. I’ve had a great experience with my online German lessons, largely thanks to my teacher, Sara. In addition to being multilingual, she has a very well-structured approach to teaching that makes each lesson clear and effective. Yvonne ordered the right materials for us starting from the textbooks to exercises to model exams. She even conducted mock exams for us on the hearing and speaking modules.
