Being a teacher at VOX is a very rich and joyful experience. The VOX method allows the students to get to meet a language from one of the most important sides of it – speaking. Back in the days, when I was learning English and French, a method such as the VOX-method would have helped me a lot and I would have loved to get to know it earlier. VOX provides a learning atmosphere that gives the students a chance to learn a language with a lot of motivation. One of the many advantages is also that the school is located right next to the main train station and that is very convenient both for the students and the teachers.

VOX is not only a different school for people who want to learn a new language, but for teachers as well! Small groups, tailored courses and a focus on speaking provied a unique experience for everyone. I'm honoured to be part of the team!

I've had the opportunity to learn German A2 at Vox from May until August. My teacher Frau Jefremova was amazing, always punctual, well-prepared, and encouraged asking questions. It was a fun learning experience, done in an absolutely professional yet friendly and respectful environment. The focus on spoken part of language during the lessons actually took away the fear of speaking in public. Rest of the staff at school were also always willing to help and guide in matters of communication and information. Would definitely consider continuing further learning at Vox.

Vox have been really great ever since my first contact and communication with them. Lilli was really great about helping me to find the right course and get everything set up. I have taken private German lessons with Elly and she has been an amazing teacher. I've never been good at learning languages, she is patient and encouraging, but also gently pushes me to outperform my own expectations and keep my learning moving along. I'm really grateful.

She was paying attention to each student's progress and helped us overcome the difficulties that we had with the material. The classes were structured well with short repetitions of the previously learned material, then learning new material, summarising what we had learned at the end of each class, and setting homework assignments. Besides following the workbook, there were a lot of interactive exercises that Elly had prepared herself, that challenged us to practice what we had learned. Also a lot of out of the book homework in addition. I had the feeling that I was progressing after each class. The workbook "Sprachniveau A1+ Begegnungen, Deutsch als Fremdsprache" by Anne Buscha and Szilvia Szita we used in the class was structured and thought through extremely well. What I like about the school is that there is an option to visit the classes online. This is really convenient not to miss classes when traveling. The online courses worked surprisingly well, as the school classrooms are equipped for online teaching as well and Elly was making sure that you feel like you are really in the classroom. The team in Vox was really collaborative and helpful. The location of the school on Central was very convenient.

Had such a good experience with VOX. I e-mailed them very last-minute and they were able to get me in to lessons extremely quickly and were very prompt in their replies. My teacher, Isabelle, has been amazing - I have progressed extremely quickly under her guidance, and have had a great deal of fun doing it. I would wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend her and VOX.

I initially selected VOX from among a handful of recommended language schools in Zurich because of its broad course offering. But I’ve stayed with VOX because of my incredible teacher, Isabelle. She took me from having absolutely zero knowledge of the German language to passing my A1 exam (which I needed as a condition of my visa to remain in Switzerland) in three months during our small group A1 course (which covered all of A1 and included supplementary test prep material). After completing this group course, I have continued taking individual lessons with Isabelle, completing A2, and am currently working through B1. I would highly recommend VOX, especially Isabelle – she is incredibly professional, has a very effective teaching method, and is patient but also knows when to push you ahead.
