On B1 level at VOX, you will work towards the goal of being able to speak actively and independently, because at level B1 practically all of the grammar required for speaking freely will be completed. To achieve this, the principles of language usage on B1 level will be explained to you in a simple way using the VOX method, so that you can apply them immediately in your everyday life. We will work in a very focused and playful way on the sentence structure, declension of the nouns, declension of the adjectives, verb conjugation, Konjunktiv II, tenses and prepositions so that you can master these topics perfectly by the end of the course.

German B1 level objectives
The Common European Framework (CEFR) defines specific objectives for B1 level.
- Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
- Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Course Description
If you are ready to sit your first intermediate level exam for German, then this course is for you. This course is also perfect for those who want to gain Swiss citizenship and need to prove that they have B1-level speaking skills or for your C-permit.
In this course, you will progress from a basic to an independent user of German and you will be able to deal with most daily situations in German. Your experienced teacher will help you to improve your language skills and also develop strategies for tackling the different parts of the exam. Our classes are small (3-5 people). This small size means your teacher can adapt to you and your needs. This exam preparation course will cover all parts of the exam: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, language elements (vocabulary and grammar), writing and, naturally, VOX’s specialty, speaking, and will familiarise you with the structure of each section. By using Telc-specific exam preparation materials you will be fully prepared for the exam by the end of the course.

I am American and was on vacation when I recently took a month of biweekly B1 German classes with VOX school in Zurich. It was a LOVELY experience. I enjoyed the diversity of students, and my teacher, Isabelle, Wegmuller, was absolutely exceptional. She had very original and creative ways of presenting new material and engaging the students. She has an astounding grasp of Hoch Deutsch and a vast well of knowledge about so many different things. The time past so quickly, too quickly, and I learned a lot in just a short period of time. I am finally learning grammar while also learning how to have some conversation apart from “Das Wetter ist gut”. I believe they have a good balance between grammar and conversation and a good pace. This was the second school I tried and I am learning a lot, but I would recommend having studied the very basics before.

The teachers are very competent (in my case Daniel and Marion) and the secretariat is very helpful and friendly. The school seems to be more expensive than others, but it is not because you will learn quickly.
Great language school with amazing teachers! I can especially recommended Sabrina and Felicity, both very professional and friendly, explain everything in a great detail, encourage to talk and help you to pronounce words correctly. The admin staff also very accommodating and helpful.
