Starting to learn a new language can be nerve-wracking, but our caring teachers will help you to overcome any fears you may have and help you to speak early and confidently in a supportive environment.
In our Telc Deutsch A1 exam preparation course you will not only learn the basics of German, but also prepare for the exam. This exam preparation course will cover all parts of the exam: reading, listening, writing and speaking, while also familiarising you with the structure of each section using materials specifically adapted to exam preparation. Your teacher will supplement the exam preparation with materials to improve your vocabulary and grammar.
At VOX, we believe that speaking is the key to learning a language well. Our small class sizes (3-5 people) enable you to get lots of speaking practice to boost your confidence and make the grammar stick. You will probably be surprised by how much you can learn to say by the end of the course. Your teacher will also pay close attention to your pronunciation to enable easier communication with German-speakers. By the end of the course you will be well prepared and feel confident about your first exam in German.

I am American and was on vacation when I recently took a month of biweekly B1 German classes with VOX school in Zurich. It was a LOVELY experience. I enjoyed the diversity of students, and my teacher, Isabelle, Wegmuller, was absolutely exceptional. She had very original and creative ways of presenting new material and engaging the students. She has an astounding grasp of Hoch Deutsch and a vast well of knowledge about so many different things. The time past so quickly, too quickly, and I learned a lot in just a short period of time. I highly recommend this school, and Isabelle, if you can get her. Well done, VOX and Isabelle.
I would like to express my satisfaction with the school in general and my German teacher, Ms. Olga Chincholle, in particular. Starting from a prompt and highly organized reception and course orientation, followed by professionalism of my teacher - everything is perfect so far. I am finally learning grammar while also learning how to have some conversation apart from “Das Wetter ist gut”. I believe they have a good balance between grammar and conversation and a good pace. This was the second school I tried and I am learning a lot, but I would recommend having studied the very basics before.
Really enjoyed my classes at VOX. Florian is such a wonderful teacher who is very knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend!
